Gauteng drug lab worth R30m bust in Johannesburg - A drug manufacturing lab was raided by police on Thursday morning in Birchleigh North, in Kempton Park, Gauteng police said.
"The Gauteng organised crimes unit discovered a drug manufacturing laboratory estimated to be worth R30m in Pongola River Drive," said Captain Katlego Mogale. Police were monitoring the residence and busted the premises at 04:00 on Thursday morning. Drug manufacturing chemicals such as ephedrine, iodine and hydrochloric acid estimated to be worth R26m were found.
"Tik worth an estimated R14m was also found."
No arrests were made and police were investigating.
